Q1. How long after my refund is issued will I receive it by mail?
Once your refund check is released by TOG, please allow 7–14 business days for delivery by the U.S. Postal Service.
Q2. How can I check the status of my refund?
You may check the status of your refund at www.guamtax.com or contact the Department of Revenue and Taxation (DRT).
Q3. Can TOG stop a check that has already been mailed?
No. Once a check has been mailed, it is considered released and cannot be stopped by TOG.
Q4. Can TOG reissue a lost, stolen, or not received refund check?
Once TOG has confirmed that a check was issued and it has been more than 15 days since it was mailed out, you will be directed to the Department of Administration (DOA) Accounting Department to request a reissuance.
Q5. Can you confirm if my refund check has been mailed?
No. For the protection of taxpayer information, the Treasurer of Guam (TOG) does not release refund information over the phone. All refund inquiries must be made in person with a valid government-issued photo ID.
Q6. Can you look up the mailing address used to send my tax refund?
No. The Treasurer of Guam (TOG) does not have the ability to search or verify refund checks based on a taxpayer’s mailing address.
Q7. Why was my refund check returned by the post office even though the address on the check is correct?
Mail delivery and return decisions are made by the U.S. Postal Service and are outside the Treasurer of Guam’s (TOG) purview. Once a returned check is received by TOG, it will be processed in accordance with established procedures.
Q8. Rev & Tax says there's a list available. Can you verify if I am on the list for refund checks?
No. For the protection of taxpayer information, the Treasurer of Guam (TOG) does not release refund information over the phone. All refund inquiries must be made in person with a valid government-issued photo ID.
Q1. How long after the $0.00 prenote appears in my bank account will I receive my tax refund?
After the $0.00 prenote appears in your bank account, please allow 5–10 business days for your tax refund to be deposited.
Q2. What happens if my EFT (direct deposit) is rejected?
If your EFT is rejected, DRT will reprocess your refund for issuance as a paper check. Once authorized by DRT, the Treasurer of Guam (TOG) will process the check for release.
Q3. Can TOG update my direct deposit information?
No. All updates to your direct deposit or banking information must be made through the Department of Revenue and Taxation (DRT).
Q4. Can TOG verify the status of my direct deposit over the phone?
No. For the protection of taxpayer information, the Treasurer of Guam (TOG) does not release refund information over the phone. All refund inquiries must be made in person with a valid government-issued photo ID.
Q1. Do you need an invoice in order to make a payment?
Yes. If you do not have an invoice or statement, you will need to go to the issuing agency for an invoice.
Q2. What is the Employee Clearance Policy?
All agencies must be cleared prior to the Treasurer of Guam. Outstanding balances with DRT and/or OAG-Child Support Division will result in a hold on any lump-sum payroll check(s). Payment arrangements must be made with the respective agency or agencies.
TOG will always be the Last Stop for Clearances.
Why is TOG always the last stop for clearances?
TOG is the custodian of public funds. We have an obligation to ensure that any monies owed to GovGuam is recovered or a payment arrangement is executed prior to clearing the employee.
Q3. What is the payroll check release policy?
- If your agency has only one payroll check, the employee may pick it up themselves.
- If there is more than one check, only authorized signers may pick them up unless the Treasurer’s Office receives emailed authorization for someone else.
- Pickup of checks by someone other than the employee is allowed with a written Letter of Authorization signed by the employee, along with a copy of the employee’s identification.
- The Department of Corrections and Guam Solid Waste Authority do not allow employees to pick up their own payroll checks under any circumstance.
Q5. I overpaid. How do I get a refund?
If you believe you overpaid, please contact the agency where the payment was made.
If the agency determines that you are entitled to a refund, the agency must submit a JV Refund Request to the DOA Accounting Department.
Once processed, a refund check will be issued.
Q6. My card was charged twice online? Who do I contact?
All online charge inquires are handled by the Department of Revenue and Taxation (DRT).
Please contact the DRT office directly for assistance with online payment transactions.
Q7. Petty cash custodians must ensure they close out their account prior to clearing. What do I do?
Petty Cash Custodians must ensure they close out their account prior to clearing or the agency head will need to reassign the petty cash account from the current custodian to a new custodian via memorandum addressed to the Director of DOA.
